Our Outdoor Media Team has operated as a National Consultant for JCDecaux Limited since 2012. JCDecaux is one of the premier outdoor advertising companies in the world, with a global presence in over 55 countries.

Since 2012 our Outdoor Media Team has operated as a UK National Consultant for one of the premier worldwide advertising companies.

Working in collaboration with our clients concepts, Barbour Consulting has created the electrical infrastructure design and specification services for our client to roll out their Digital Large Format installations throughout the UK.

Our team was responsible for the electrical design for our clients first ‘Large Format’ digital projects in London and subsequently, Manchester, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Leeds, Glasgow, Birmingham, Bristol and Sheffield.

What is Our Outdoor Media Service?

Working with our clients we provide Outdoor Media electrical design, specification, and installation services which include the complete process of designing, managing and installing electrical installations for Outdoor Media projects located in the Out of Home environment. This includes electrical installations for Outdoor Media digital displays, signage, and associated media control equipment.

Outdoor Media Design Phase

The design phase involves determining and detailing the electrical requirements of the full media package, including power consumption, leakage current, lightning protection, comms equipment, voltage disturbance, surge protection, containment and cabling.

Additionally, we account for environmental factors including weather conditions and safety regulations associated with roadside working and installations.

Outdoor Media Specification Phase

The specification phase involves selecting the appropriate electrical components and equipment to meet the detailed design requirements. This includes the provision of a specification of works document detailing the equipment and installation standards required by the client for the contractor to satisfactorily deliver the project.

Installation Phase of Outdoor Media Projects

The installation Phase of each outdoor media project involves the physical installation of the complete electrical installation, in accordance with the detailed design package provided by the client. Additionally this involves coordinating with other contractors and construction professionals, such as structural, civil and mechanical engineers, to ensure the electrical installation is integrated seamlessly into the outdoor media environment.
